A Successful Political Career (Fri Nov 26, 2004 8:22am ET)report post
by CMVS von Uthemann, President, RILMAC Int
I believe that Mr. Ron Silver should pursue his political career more intensely. He showed his prowess in the acting world for many years and won awards and respect for this profession. Now it's time, perhaps, for him to consider a more permanent Republican political position.
He showed tremendous courage supporting President Bush when all of his colleagues from Hollywood, the theatre and TV did otherwise. If I were President Bush, I would appoint Mr. Silver for a significant political position, if he has not done so already. Mr. Silver amazes me for his intellectual and emotional instincts for winners. His integrity, intelligence, compassion for helping others, excellent educational and cultural background are Mr. Silver's strong assets should he decide to go for the Senate or the White House in the future.

Ron Silver would make a great politician, and I mean that in a good way. He's smart, passionate, committed and sincere. These are the very qualities a politician should have. He thinks before he speaks, and is dedicated to political activism. that is why I'm an admirer of his.

Its a shame (Thu Sep 9, 2004 6:45pm ET)report post

That Ron Silver has fallen for the Bush fear campaign by his support of the war in Iraq. I didn't watch the RNC but did hear him comment afterwards on MSNBC. He should know better that the war in Iraq is not keeping the U.S. safer, particularly when no WMD were found nor any link to 9/11 was established. I am disappointed that he is oblivous to the problems caused by the inept and incompetent Bush Administration. I'm cynical enough to wonder if he has been paid off to appear at the RNC.

By supporting for Bush, Ron Silver doesn't give a d@mn about the many problems facing ordinary citizens have such as the expiration of the assault weapons ban, economic anxiety, skyrocking health and prescription costs and rising Medicare premiums.

I always admired his talents, including singing (a small bit in "Married To It"), and especially his role as Alan Derschowitz in "Reversal Of Fortune". Now I find him the most courageous actor in NYC, since he supported Rudy's actions during "9/11". Ron is one of my heroes....his bravery in standing up for George Bush in NYC, also MY city, is unparalleled. He is alone among the NY/LA-sycophantic liberal chorus of those who parrott the P.C. sentiments of the media and those who have no insight into their own VERY capitalistic lifestyles. I thank and commend him.

Ron Silver Hero (Mon Sep 13, 2004 8:15pm ET)report post

Ron Silver has been my hero for quite a while. He is intelligent, educated and articulate. He's also a great actor who is exciting to watch. He knows what he's talking about because he does his research. The comments about his weight are childish. He may have gained weight but he is still a very attractive man. I'm only 28 but I am absolutely in love with him.

Republicans and other right-wingers are continuously making disparaging comments about Michael Moore's appearance. so i am afraid that makes poor old Ron fair game.

Excuse me, I don't remember Ron Silver making any comments about Moore's weight. Don't compare him to other Republicans. Moore is a bleeding-heart liberal bigmouth. His weight doesn't have anything to do with that.

It was refreshing to see an actor that didn't apologize for his convictions and was confident enough to appear at the RNC.

I was very surprised to hear that Ron Silver addressed the RNC, declaring his support for Bush and the Iraq War. I always thought he was a good actor, the first time i remember him was in RHODA, I think he played a guy called Gary. On one level you'd feel sorry for him. its the male menopause, baldness, bit of weight and a mad lurch to the right.

How disappointing to see Ron Silver addressing the Republican Convention. All this time I thought he was a bright man. How in the world could he suport George Bush for another 4 years??? I suppose he does not have any children in Iraq fighting this senseless war. Stick to acting Ron.

Are you kidding? Ron Silver is still a great-looking man! He is an amazing actor and is obviously very intelligent. He is everything I could want in a man. (I'm 27,but I don't care about the age difference). He may have gained weight, but that just means there's more of him to love.

It's nice to see that an actor in Hollywood is not allowing his political ideology to take over his common sense. I completely agree with his stance on Iraq and his support of the President. It's clear that he has a mind of his own,and that he learns about an issue before he speaks out about it. If only more in his profession were the same way!

I just watched Farenhype 9/11 and was so impressed by the rest of the story and Ron's willingness to stand up and ask for people to talk about these things intelligently. The arguments have become so foolish, and the media has not helped by refusing to cover the whole story. People have cussed each other out for being on the other side. It all is in who you believe and why. I think Ron got it right. I did not know he is so educated and has the background to know what he is talking about.
We have been lied to repeatedly by Michael Moore and company. The facts are out there for people to check it out. Michael Moore should be sued by all the people who did not want to be in his movies but ended up in them anyway and misrepresented.
