, winning the role after more than 300 actors were considered. His other film credits include Can't Hardly Wait, Senseless, and the Oscar -nominated independent Kangaroo Court. His television credits include the hit series 24, HBO's Dancing in September, TNT's Freedom Song, and a lead role in NBC/Dreamworks' upcoming military MOW Semper Fi. He has played recurring, regular or guest-starring roles on such series as Judging Amy, Early Edition, Touched By An Angel, NYPD Blue, Chicago Hope, Beverly Hills 90210, and Party of Five.
Raised in Orange County, California, Shannon was a promising high school baseball player until being sidelined by a severely injured hamstring. He took an interest in acting and began taking two-hour bus rides to Laguna Niguel to study with a drama teacher, performing chores at the facility in lieu of tuition. His breakthrough role came a few years later in the television series Dangerous Minds.
