Ted Shackelford, born June 23, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is an American actor. Shackelford is best known for his role as Gary Ewing on Knots Landing, which he starred in from 1979 until 1993. He also appeared as Gary Ewing on several episodes of Dallas; this role had originally been played by actor David Ackroyd who was unable to return for future appearances.
Shackelford has played roles in Wonder Woman, Another World, and most recently in The Division. He also starred in the British science fiction series, Space Precinct.
In early 2006, he joined the cast of The Young and The Restless as a lawyer who prosecutes Ashley Abbott.
