Biography #2 (for Poseidon)

Freddy Rodriguez has quickly emerged as one of Hollywood's most versatile young actors, garnering an Emmy nomination and two SAG Awards for his role on Six Feet Under as the artful and ambitious mortician, Federico Diaz.

Currently, Rodriguez is working on the Robert Rodriguez / Quentin Tarantino project Grind House, and has just wrapped Bobby, a feature film written and directed by Emilio Estevez. This Summer, Rodriguez can be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water, opposite Paul Giamatti, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jeffery Wright. Other notable film credits include Harsh Times, Dreamer, Havoc, A Walk in the Clouds, Dead Presidents, The Pest, Chasing Papi, Payback, and For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story.

Born and raised in Chicago, Rodriguez began acting in his teens. He received a two-year scholarship to the summer arts program at Chicago Center for the Gifted and went on to star in more than 20 theater productions in his home town. Between acting projects he enjoys helping a variety of organizations dedicated to keeping the arts in public schools.

Biography #3 (for Chasing Papi)

Freddy Rodriguez is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood most versatile young actors. He currently stars in the highly acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2001. In the series, created by Academy Award winner Alan Ball, Rodriguez portrays Federico Diaz, the artful young mortician who is a whiz at reconstructing badly disfigured corpses.

During his recent hiatus from Six Feet Under, Rodriguez starred in the independent film Pledge of Allegiance. He made his feature film debut in Alfonso Arau's A Walk in the Clouds, starring Keanu Reeves and Anthony Quinn, which he quickly followed with a starring role in the feature film Dead Presidents, directed by the Hughes brothers. Rodriguez also made memorable roles in The Pest, with John Leguizamo; Payback, with Mel Gibson; and in a starring role in the HBO film For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, with Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan.

A theater-trained actor hailing from Chicago, Rodriguez starred in the pilot production of Chicago's Whirlwind Performance Company, a theater company composed of youth at risk, at the age of 14. Because of his exceptional work with this group, he received a two-year scholarship to the summer arts program at Chicago's Center for the Gifted and went on to star in more than 20 Chicago-based theater productions.

Between acting projects, Rodriguez donates his spare time to variety of organizations dedicated to keeping the arts in public schools. He addresses students as often as he can about the joys of working in the arts and the importance of pursuing dreams.
