Peter Greenaway Forum

| by GaryL18 Either I'm missing something (highly likely) or Tulse Luper: The Moab Story has not opened in the U.S. And 6 months after it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. I've even looked on the regular sites. I've asked a couple of my film buff buds, and they haven't heard anything. I can only guess that Greenaway's adding or subtracting things. I've heard of that happening before. I'm obsessed with this movie now after going to petergreenaway.co.uk and looking at clips. Anyone have any info on this? He says he's interested in cataloging and lists. Ever since the famous American Film Institute's famous list of the top 100 American Films of the 20th Century, and some subsequent ones on books and rock 'n roll albums, I've been thinking about and compiling lists. I realized the attraction - we use them to prime our memory. They could give a portrait of your self. At least a superficial one. Greenaway also says he's interested in merging art forms, i.e. literature, painting and film. He's fascinated with oriental characters as they are partly word and partly picture. I'm sure this was his original inspiration. Comment on this... |
