| by Allison I do not think Pauleen Anderson is a real person well she is but for the movie Shatered Innocense they changed her name. The real person is Colleen Applegate but you can probably find her under Shauna Grant she wasn't born in Kansas She was actually born in Bellflower,California in Southern California her family then moved to Minnesota and there she was a cheerleader in high school so the movie wasn't completely wrong it was probably puposely changed....The saddest part is that she killed herself a couple months before her birthday She really didn't like the industry but she was hooked on the cocaine and died March 24,1984...her coke dealer boyfriend was actually Jack "Jake" Ehrlich, age 44. Ehrlich had "eased her out" of adult films and the two settled in Palm Springs, California. He owned a leather goods store, Pelle, in downtown Palm Springs, which Grant began to manage. here's a little information from wikipedia--->On March 21, 1984, Grant committed suicide at age twenty in Palm Springs by shooting herself with a .22 caliber rifle. Shortly after 7 p.m. she lay down, placed the gun horizontally against her head, and pulled the trigger. The shot passed through her right temple, out the left and into the bedroom wall, according to police reports. The gun was discharged from such close range that the bullet left virtually star-shaped holes. Brain dead, Shauna was rushed to Desert Hospital, where life support systems were disconnected after two days. Grant's funeral was held March 28, 1984, at St. Michael's Church, a Catholic parish near the center of Farmington. Members of the adult industry were absent from the ceremony, believing their presence would only exacerbate the family's anguish. Instead they contributed both flowers and letters. Grant was buried in her favorite color, pink. Preliminary investigations by Palm Springs police posed questions regarding the circumstances surrounding Grant's death. Weeks after the event, police were still awaiting results of toxicological and gun-residue tests. The possibility of a foul play investigation hung in the balance. It is known that Grant had received threatening phone calls that related to her boyfriend's business affairs. Also, detectives noted Ehrlich had avoided jail for some time by providing authorities with information. At the time of Grant's death there were two people playing pool in Ehrlich's house, Brenda Rosenow, a friend of Colleen's, and Cal Ardigo, a friend of Ehrlich's. Shortly before Grant's shooting, two unidentified visitors showed up outside the home. The back door of Ehrlich's house was a possible means of access to the bedroom and to Grant. Grant's career and death were fictionalized as the basis for a television movie called Shattered Innocence, a film that bears little resemblance to her actual life. Her parents used their proceeds from selling the rights to the movie to fund Grant's tombstone. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Martin Lathey I don't care about her being a pron star or any of that. My concern is why didn't the parents stand behind her when she wanted to come home and stay? I don't pretend to understand the parents either. My Lord, She was 20 when she died. She was still a child. I pray that people look at the real picture here. She needed help and had no where to turn. My hopes are that young kids get the picture that if you need help there are places to go at least I hope there is. I feel for the parents now too. Because they don't have a second chance to make it right.Martin Comment on this... |

| by caroline i hate it that such a young girl was involved in these terrible situattions. i have recently seen the movie SHATTERED INNOCENCE on tv and was stricken that such a young person died so innocently unknowing of the troubles that she got involved with. but i should know. i am no older than thirteen and have desperately thought of doing such a thing to myself. in fact, i have tried. i can relate to pauleen anderson with her depressions on how thinking that there is no way out. but luckily, my mother found out and took me to a phyc. hospital before it was too late. but i do feel very sorry for pauleen anderson and literally there would have been a way out. no matter what. | by Nidya I believe that for her killing herself was the only option she saw in order to free herself from having made the decision of becoming a "model." That's how it all started. I think she didn't see another way out. She was drugged and in a way, how do you think her life would've been if she would've remained alive, what was out there for her? Who was there to help her. Her family and everybody will feel sad about her death and would probably thing of the good in her, but do you think that if she would've remained alive, anything would've changed, that her family would've thought more about helping her than trying to make her "good?" She could've turned her life around, but how would she have started? No one, not even a porn star or anyone that has experienced similar things can truly know exactly anything about her, because no matter how much your experiences may resemble someone elses or how experienced and knowledgeable you are within the subject, you are not that person. I see her as a lost girl, naive. It's amazing how truly, a moment's decision can change your life forever, even to the point of ending it. To only know that she thought it was modeling only, no nudes, and that she was hesitant about it all, that she had a chance to get out before it got ugly for her, but she didn't. Comment on this... |

| by The Movie King A very sad movie. I hate it, that people have to be so hard on somebody, who has a bad habit. I think it's a waste that Pauleen Anderson commited suicide, sure she was unhappy and she had a lot of problems, drug using, nude modeling, and being put downed by her family and friends. But, still she shouldn't have killed herself, I mean life is all there is. Comment on this... |
