Sydney Pollack is the only director whose films I will go see and purchase because he is the Director. His work in The Interpreter, for example, brought out Nicole Kidman's best performance. The manner in which he controlled her reaction when Sean Penn told her of the loss of his wife was brilliant. He also is the best Director/Editor in films. His films are all tight, moving at the best possible pace. I hope he will concentrate on his directing work.
