| by Jeff Cherifi Jake the Snake was the most exciting wrestler to watch in the ring. He had the ability (more so than others) to defeat any given wrestler on any given night, like he did in MSG against the seldom-pinned (at the time) Million $ Man Ted DiBiase in April 1989, Bad News Brown in April 1990, and Earthquake (John Tenta) in mid 1991. His personality and style were like no other performer. He did not appear to thrive off of fan support and cheering (although he did receive it generously) like others did. He did not need championship belts or a musclebound physique to be successful - just his cunning ring savvy and no nonsense demeaner-from his way to the ring, in the ring, and the way back to the locker room. He is truly the main reason why I watched WWF for so long. In fact, if I were a pro-wrestler and I could be undefeated against top wrestlers for a couple of years or so, I would want Jake to be the first one to be able to beat me! He would deserve that kind of recognition more than any other. Comment on this... |
