| by Stevan Petrovic To Mr Norman Jewison From Stevo Petrovic Toronto, September, 20th 2007 I was your assistant and pathfinder during your location hunt through Panonian villages and landscapes of Serbia for your masterpiece "Fiddler on the roof". I also have a fond recollection of our meeting in Zagreb during the Fiddler's shooting, where I took John Box to see you, during my collaboration with him on Nicholas and Alexandra. I am a producer now and have a book about a young scientist, Tim, exploring Canada's Northwest for the United Nations, in search for uranium ore. Tim falls in love with the beauty of Canada and decides to spend the winter in a solitary experimental station of the UN. During a severe snow-storm Tim is entrusted with the task of saving the life of Joy, a young woman fashion model who came to visit Chuck, another ore explorer . Chuck is compelled to leave Joy with Tim, as their joint efforts in ore exploration are jeopardized by rival's, and Chuck must report and register their rights in the exploration center, in spite of the severe snow storm he is forced to go through Tim's task is arduous as Joy is partly frozen from her long journey through blizzard. In the process love is born between the two Chuck appears with the first days of spring and takes Joy away. Tim decides to give up his exploration and follow ... Dear Mr Jewison, I would be grateful if you could spare some of your precious time and see me and advise about this book's chances to be filmed in Canada. I am looking forward to hearing from you, read your email, and if possible see you soon. I remain respectfully your admirer, Stevo petrovic Comment on this... | ||||

| by Alan Buick Dear Mr. Jewison, May I first say I have been a fan of your work for many, many years. Until recently that is all I was, then I came accross a story I know you will be interested in. it has all the earmarks of a Norman Jewison classic. During WW2 in war torn Holland there lived a little girl and her family. She saved her Dad from a firing squad, escaped with her family under fire to Canadian lines, rode in a Sherman tank with Canadian soldiers in combat and was the recipient of a little coat made for her by those soldiers. This, along with accessories, was presented to her on Christmas Day 1944. That little coat hangs in the Legion at Olds Alberta and is soon to be transferred to the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. Today, she and the tank commander she rode with are married and living in Holland. At this moment they are in Canada and will be in Olds when "The Little Coat" is due to be sent to Ottawa. I have written their story and have either hard copy or DVD for your consideration should you desire to read it. there is so much more to this story than the brief description I have given here. All my information was gleaned from the memories of those that lived it. respectfully yours, Alan Buick. Aug. 20, 2006 Comment on this... |

| by Eric MacEachern Good Day Nick, I wonder has Mr. Jewison ever heard of a man who was called "Two Gun Cohen". A True story of a Brit who lived in Canada and went to China. He adopted them as they did he before their revolution. The pictures of him in a western top hat and tails attending a funeral as a sole westerner in that period are fasenating. I can only imagine what a Canadian like Mr. Jewison could do with his story. Comment on this... |

| by Juanita Summers Hello Mr. Jewison, I was marveled by the interview on Sunday Morning. Surprisingly I own most of your films, which are brilliant and gifted. I do agree with you about The Hurricane. Not ever knowing you. With all do respect, my story............ I grew up in the inner city of Detroit, Michigan and am now living in the suburb of Bloomfield Hills. It is my dream to direct a (positive) film involving the talents of at risk youth. I need your help. I'd be delighted to donate a portion of the proceeds to Helping more youths in need. Have many unpublished writings as well. Have some ideas for marketing them. I have written a play and know you'd be able to help and direct me. It is a true Story about an inter- racial relationship. It happened to me and I an African American Mom, With a very Caucasian looking child. The hours leading up to my relinquishing him for adoption are all written and have been sealed for the last 30 years. If you are interested in knowing the story and how it evolved, please call or email me. Juanita Summers Michigan Comment on this... |

| by Mel I've been meaning to find a way to contact you regarding your extraordinary body of work. Film after film of a quality rarely seen. The feature on CBS Sunday Morning reminded me to stop procrastinating and at least try and get a note to you. My favorites: Fiddler on the Roof & Moonstruck I put you in the same category as David Lean...and I feel that's pretty good company. Regards from Texas... Comment on this... | ||||
