| by Code Black Cheech Marin and Friends Live from South Beach “Mexican-Americans they love education so they go to night school and take Spanish and get a B.” Hahahaaaa…man I still remember when “Cheech” was singing those funny songs in those Cheech and Chong movies. No more purple-hazed adventures with Chong because now this Latino comedian is an icon amongst aspiring Latino comedians. From hot dogs to welfare to barbies and, of course, girls you are guaranteed to laugh your ‘pompies’ off!! This dude is hilarious! In “Cheech Marin and Friends Live from South Beach,” this iconic comedian is appropriately portrayed as the “Godfather of Comedy.” You gotta watch and see for yourself. He gives advice to other comedians as he pets his stuffed dog. Petting a stuffed dog? That had me cracking up. The DVD, “Cheech Marin and Friends Live from South Beach” had me rolling out of my seat the entire movie. If you liked the Original Latin Kings of Comedy, you’ll definitely like this DVD. I saw this early, but I think it is out August 1. www.myspace.com/cheechdvd Comment on this... |

| by Karen Peralta Dear Cheech (if you ever read this) or your Publicist, We would like you to direct a movie that is "rainbow," starring Chicano and Chicana having relationships with others indeed in Washington State. It's pretty much a good family film, children are involved, statements against racism get subtly made, brown/black/white with white largely as important background characters. Movie to be very Pacific NW as book is; book to be published sometime in 2005. Movie is both subtly and raucously humerous. No "bathroom" humor, but a guy does get caught...never mind. Anyway, it's extremely worthwhile and should be a red-hot property soon. If you or your publicist(s) or reps saw this, please feel free to contact me anytime at karencole@rainbowriting.com . Also, anyone into small indie productions or major motion pics can contact same. I am also contacting Don Knotts, possibly Jim Carry, and want Mr. Richard Marin to direct the movie. As Cheech, or whatever, but he gets a brief "cameo" as Pancho Villa in Caza's sleepy bedroom scene alone. He's fully dressed as the real Pancho Villa, and comes back to explain something to her in a dream sequence where Caza wonders whassup is goin' on. Cheech may help rewrite, cast, or do almost anything he wants within reason with the movie, but the book is as is and should be fairly closely followed. His interpretations of things will be very up to him. It's also a slightly anti-drug (but not very) family movie, kids not dope you might say, etc. Please contact me at karencole@rainbowriting.com for any further details. With the Warmest Regards, Karen Peralta Executive Director Rainbow Writing, Inc. www.rainbowriting.com klcsp Comment on this... |
