What man could watch Christine and not fall in love with her? She is the most magnificent actor and beautiful woman I have ever seen. I try to watch everything in which she has a part, the last being "Women vs. Men" in which she was mesmerizing. God bless, Christine. Keep on keeping on. You are my fantasy goddess.

Christine Lahti has always been the pillar of excellence in all of her journeys into all of the roles she has so wonderfully and thankfully given us. Her intensity, her emotions, her incredible gift of 'living the part'... all so movingly entwined in her acting .... She's so deserving of Golden Globes, Oscars and all of the other accolades that the film world gives to it's best.... She's the best! The supreme actress.... Role model.... Woman.... Human...

I saw the Chicago Hope series and Christine was exceptionally great in it. I've never seen such a great actress. The way she drifts from one mood to another is so natural. When she left from the Chicago hope series it became really boring. She's the best actress in the world.

how is Carol? (Fri Aug 26, 2005 4:43pm ET)report post
by Wendy Rowland Gatchie
Chris Lahti's mom was my brownie leader in Birmingham, Michigan. Her sister, Carol was in my grade (Seaholm High, class of 1966). I was just wondering how Carol is and if Mrs. Lahti is still living.

A CLASS actress. Why does she remind me of Michelle Bauer the B-Movie Scream Queen? Are they related?

My First Mister, My First Tear (Sun Aug 31, 2003 7:14am ET)report post
by Toney
I have seen alot of movies in my life, but not one that hits the heart like My First Mister. I fell in love with all of the characters, especially Karol Cane was a crack up. LeLe and Albert had great chemistry in my eyes. I have never seen a comedy/ drama that has mad me laugh and tear at the same time until I seen this one. If other viewers are reading these you MUST see this movie. Keep them coming Christine, you are a brilliant director.

What's the Joke?? (Sun Aug 3, 2003 5:41pm ET)report post
by Terry Knox
In "My First Mister", during the after dinner scene near the end of the movie, John Goodman's character cracks everybody up with a joke he tells - the audience is only privy to the punch line, which is "we're called the Aristocrats!!" I heard this and my mouth fell open - because I remember hearing a joke back in the late 60's with this punchline - and the joke was unbelievably crude and funny. I found it incredibly intriguing that Christine had written in a reference to a joke that has to have very little audience recognition. Anyway, she and I are the same age, so she probably heard it way back when also. If anyone knows the rest of the joke, please e-mail me!!

"The Aristocrats" is a very well known joke (and somewhat of a game) among comedians, with a long history, and there is no specific story only a format...

A) A family goes in to see a talent agent.
B) He asks to see their act.
C) Extremely crude events transpire.
D) They explain that their act is called "The Aristocrats".

Each person tells the joke in their own way, lending to it whatever horrible and unbelievable acts they can devise and there are those who have elevated this joke to a high (well *low*, really) art.
