I went to the November show, then two December shows and Valentine's Day at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. Am going anywhere I can afford to to see and hear this incredible performer. There is no equal. He has no peer. Just flat out amazing.

I don't understand why they don't play Dwight' s music on the radio, he is so much better than the pop style stuff that crams the airwaves. I just found his music by accident a couple of months ago and have been in heaven ever since. His music makes me want to dance and sing and bounce off the walls! His voice just keeps getting better - am going to my first live show in November and hear he's just grand. Can hardly wait.

The only thing I knew about Dwight Yoakam before I went to one of his shows (comp tickets) was that he always wore that crazy cowboy hat and I never saw a picture that showed his face. I did know he had acted in a few movies and got mostly rave rewviews for that ability. But I figured he HAD TO BE BETTER THAN BILLY BOB THORNTON whose personal version of a trainwreck I had experienced just a few nights before. All I can say is that 10 minutes into the show I was ready to yell at the top of my lungs WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN BABY AND WHY DIDNT I HEAR ABOUT THIS MUSIC SOONER. There was not one song in the set that was not performed from deep inside somewhere. Whether it be from deep happiness or deep angst. To see this performer live to to die and go to heaven if only for 2 hours.
