Ringo, the cement between the shining lodestones. (Sun Jun 3, 2007 9:41am ET)report post

Hmm, lots of comments about Yoko Ono being evil but even if she is, what has this got to do with Ringo Starr? I'm afraid the Americans have no sense of formality, they just let their wild and generalist opinions run free whenever they have a slither of a chance. But I don't suppose they're going to change anytime soon.
Back to the subject of the forum then-Ringo-fine Scouser, decent character actor who should have got a lot more parts, after 'That'll be the Day' proved how good he was. Musically, my lord, wasn't he lucky to have bumped into those two. He actually does the drummers union a favour by making their much maligned art look quite difficult after all. The Beatles must have decided that if they were going to be big, as they knew they would be, they'd need a bit of Liverpool lip and tomfoolery to deter the press from being too 'Observerish' and deep about their obvious talent. Lennon hated the pretentious snobbery of the media of that era, so I think he wanted to divert it all with this clowny exterior, but now I'm doing it. I'm sure J.L. has his own site somewhere. So okay, to sum up, as a performer per se, especially in all the between shows media coverage, he was essential to their image, and without doubt took a lot of the heat off the others, especially George. He did very probably act as a kind of mediating, calming influence between the two big egos, sorry artists, of the Group. Some say it was his friendliness and earthiness, when the growing polarity between the two masters of the group reached the point of no return by the time of 'Yellow Submarine', which helped keep them together for another couple of years. And those late Beatles albums have become classic works, mainly because the two lead artists had gone back to being serious about their art again, even if all the banter and fun had gone. I think the untitled manager of the group had become Ringo Starr.

I love Ringo (Tue Dec 27, 2005 1:42pm ET)report post

Ringo is my absolute favorite! ever! what else is there to say? Ringo rocks and that is that. ummmm....the cutest one is paul, but he looks like he's on drugs when he sings. John is the best, he's got a great voice, but he's a tad weird. My friend thinks George is hot, but he;s got bad teeth. Given, they all have bad teeth, because let's face it, they are British. oo denied. Final note: yoko broke ther beatles!!!!!!!!! i don;t care what you say, because it's true and you are fooling yourself if you say otherwise.

I hope I will meet you someday and you will show me how to play the drums. I'll begin to play the drums I think next year but I will never be so great like you. Your awsome Ringo!!You rock!! Like Casey said I miss George and John too. I'm soo said that The Beatles breaked up and I think Yoko did that. Sad I hate her. My fave Beatle songs are these that you sing (not only those). Don't say that
Yoko Ono obviously didn't do anything to help the Beatles or anything but John loved her. She might have quite possibly been the reason they broke up but we shouldn't go accusing people. Her and John seemed so happy together and to put her down i mean even now her husband is dead for christ sake leave her alone. So yeah stop putting people down. It's annoying. oh i should probably say something bout Ringo
You have to be the best drummer like ever born the day u joined the beatle was the day that the world changed. You are so totally better than pete best. You rock hard ALWAYS!!

Ok here's how i see it once Brian Epstein died it was all pretty much down hill from there. Yoko Ono was just the last straw. She was the one who pushed it too far but all the fault shouldn't be put on her. Brian Epstain was like the guy. He was the one keeping everything together, and without him the Beatles just fell apart. I'm not happy about it any more than you are but lets not put all the blame on her
