| by Steve Wood I love Mr. Rooney especially as Andy Hardy, now and always, and any musical with the fabulous Judy Garland. THE HUMAN COMEDY is a masterpiece. And IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD is the funniest comedy of the sound era and my favorite movie of my 1960's childhood. I hope he reads these comments. Mick, you deserve a special Honorary Oscar for a lifetime of incomparable work. Comment on this... |

| by ken Bruce This man is one of the finest actors the world has known,in the film The Bridges at Toki Rie with M Holden he was first class. And I loved him in Boys town Mickey willa;ways be special to me . He showed us all that being small was no disadvantage and played his roles as they came good and fast. God bless him for giving me so much joy with his films. My pocket money was 2 Shilling s and 6 pence a week and I saved it to see him at our open air cinema. It was a pleasure to sit through one of his films. Comment on this... |

| by Christine I 'grew up' with Mickey Rooney, so to speak - not in the flesh but via the silver screen. I never missed one of his films even when I was 'grounded' for some misdemeanor. The excuses I gave my mother for getting out of the house to go to the cinema. I wouldn't or couldn't miss a Mickey Rooney movie. Nowadays, I relive my youth with my collection of videos and yes, Mickey Rooney is often a visitor in my home courtesy of the VC recorder! My favourite is 'Girl Crazy' I only wish I had been able to see him when he was in London, but sadly money was tight and I couldn't go. Comment on this... |

| by Sarah Mickey Rooney is by far the most talented and dramatic actors the movies have ever known. In every scene, he is either pouring with emotion, making the audience laugh, or being a natural charm. Hollywood knew few people who had enough talent to make others believe what you were doing. For Mickey, it all came naturally, and that is what the world has grown to love. He was real, and is real. He was what the movie people call "a star". Today, we have nothing but people who wish to be called a star, and are called it only because the public believes everything dishes out to them in movies, music, and television. Today, our sky is nearly starless. Comment on this... | ||||
