| by cassavetes45 i have been a john cassavetes fan since i was 12 years old....i am now in my 40's. there is so much i could expound on about him...he was just the best. the films he made were powerful and yet upsetting...but they always made you think. he put his heart and sweat and blood into each of his movies...and it shows. i must admit, i preferred him as an actor. his sexy good looks, his silly grin and laugh, have charmed me from the first time i saw him. his johnny staccato days were fantastic.......his movie husbands is my all time fav..with peter falk and ben gazzara....now those are 3 great looking guys!! jc worked hard to accomplish something that few had done in the past...to work beyond the studio system and spend his own money to produce his films.....he was a renegade before anyone even knew what a renegade was. i salute him....and all that he did for movie-making...all these young newbies could take a lesson from him....
