Yes indeed just like some of you, I've stopped to watch the River King to check if Jennifer wasn't Merryl's daugther. For a moment I did close my eyes and even the voice (besides Merryl's endless accents played) they sound the same. If they aren't related, it must then be one of a kind genetic coinscidence!!! The funniest is that neither of them have no information about family relatives, what so ever nowhere!!! HHHMMM...Truth is Jennifer has it, like mother like daughter?! ;o)

She is an amazing actor. I have been a fan of her ever since Pride and Prejudice that I saw over 9 years ago. Saw her on the stage in the Real Thing and this woman is so good an actress. I love watching her face change, she is a very nuianced actress: just watch her in Pride or Possession or Bedrooms and Hallways or Sunshine or anything else.

I agree with everyone here. I saw her in Pride and Prejudice 5 yrs ago and she blew me away with her acting and her beauty. She is a rare talent. You dont see talent of her calabre too much in Hollywood. Jennifer Ehle is like another...Audrey Hepburn. She is special and one in a million!

I will have to agree, that she is, in my eye the best actress in today's world, along with Meryl streep, my first exposure to Jennifer was P&P, but her more recent role in Possession was just outstanding, I will see anything that she is in. I just wish she would make more films so we can see it over and over. She has shown nothing but class in everything she has done. Just Extremely talanted!!

My goodness. It doesn't look like this site is too active, but I just watched THE RIVER KING (is it really old?) and had to google the actress who I would have bet my bottom dollar was Meryl Streep's daughter! I have never seen such a resemblence physically or talent wise. I'm still in shock to find there's no relation (or is it a deeply guarded secret?) I think she's proven her talent and come out of hiding if so! wow.

HOW WEIRD!!! I'm watching the River King right now and my thoughts were..."GEEZ is that Meryl Streep's daughter??? Her looks and demeanor resemble Meryl Streep so much it's scary!! Then I find this sight and see that someone else did the very same thing...google jennifer ehle while watching the River King, to see if she's Meryl's daugter!

I had the very same reaction...noticed the uncanny resemblance to Streep in the River King movie..and also in Possession. At some point in her career Ehle should play Streep's younger sister or daughter.

O.K. I did it, too. Am watching River King and thought, "This HAS to be Meryl Streep's daughter," so I went to google it and found this blog. Uncanny resemblance to Meryl Streep!

Wow...I just got through watching The River King and googling Jennifer Ehle, too, because she looks so darned much like Meryl Streep. Someone needs to cast her and Meryl to play different ages of the same character so we can all have closure...lol

I haven't seen P & P, but I just loved her in Possession. She resembled a young Meryl Streep and her acting is of the same calibre.

Dear Cindy! I love Jennifer in Possession very much! I've read the book and I think that Jennifer and Jeremy Northam fit perfectly for their characters. But Jennifer in Pride and Prejudice is something beyond words! You must see it!

On and on I could go about Jennifer Ehle. She takes her roles far beyond any other actor I've seen. I would love to see her live and hope she does more, more, more!!!!

I am recently a late-comer when it comes to discovering the charms of Jennifer Ehle. My wife introduced me to her by way of Pride & Prejudice this last weekend. I was so enthralled by her performance that I must say I believe her to be one of the most gifted actresses in this day and age. The subtlety of expression, the volumes she speaks with a mere look were so engaging, I had to watch the entire mini-series in one sitting. The next day I had to go out and buy it! I find her even more intriguing with her apparent disconnection with hollywood scene. Her choice of roles shows that not only is she very gifted, but she is very selective in the use of those gifts. I truly hope to see her in more high-profile films where the world can discover what a rare jewel she is.

I absolutely agree, she is superb - I have watched Pride and Prejudice many times and find her magical in every respect. If I could send her a direct message, I would urge her to use her splendid acting on select films with substance. She is perfect for historical themes. She has class, she is sweet, and has true beauty without Hollywood glamour.

I think sheŽs the most talented actress since Angela Lansbury. The part of Elizabeth Bennett in P&P is my favourite part of her. I know a lot of her movies and i like they all very, very much. She has this very special. And she should stay, how she is. SheŽs my favourite actress. And i hope, sheŽll play more parts like Elizabeth in P&P.
