Hedy Burress
Last season, Burress had a recurring role on the acclaimed medical drama Gideon's Crossing playing Money Raspberry Dupree. She first became known to primetime audiences as the ambitious and fidgety Wyleen Pritchett on the hit sitcom Boston Common, and then segued to another series regular role on the Tom Selleck comedy The Closer.
Born in Illinois, Burress studied stage directing and performing at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. During that time, she appeared in a CD-ROM video game that led to her being cast in Mike Figgis' critically acclaimed feature film Foxfire with Angelina Jolie. When her performance in that film caught the attention of agents, she was eventually cast in the mini-series Seduced by Madness: The Diane Borchardt Story with Ann-Margret. She also portrayed Sissy Spacek's daughter in HBO's groundbreaking If These Walls Could Talk. Her other telefilms include Cabin by the Lake, Swing Vote and Any Mother's Son.
Burress has been in the feature films Valentine, Bug, Tick Tock and Getting Personal. She has also appeared in theatre productions of The Rimers of Eldritch, MacBeth and Biloxi Blues.
In addition, in her native Illinois she was a singer and songwriter for the band Rain Merchants. Burress currently lives in Los Angeles.
