| by Sandy Sam had his "big break" in the Disney family-comedy "Jungle2Jungle." The film was a critical bomb but a financial success. When Sam's work was noticed, it was always with admiration (but it mostly wasn't - that darn spider got more attention than he did). Sam's gone on to do ever smaller roles in ever worse films (too bad, he's a talented actor). Let's hope for another break! Here are some trivia things: *Sam grew up near Peterbrough NH where his dad ("Woody") owns a cabinet making company and his mom (Chris) is a writer and sometime arts teacher. He has one older sis (last I knew, she lived in Boston and had just dropped out of college). * He and his sis did a public service commercial when they were both very small, Sam was maybe 5 at the time. * When a boy, Sam was often seen playing with legos or jumping on his trampoline. He was pretty into Superman, too. Later, sports occupied his time. He was often seen down at the town hall playing basketball. He also had a very beloved dog (recently died). * In the 1970's, his mother tried her luck with Broadway, but without much luck. In the early 1980's she tried Hollywood - with even less luck (she made small appearances in 2 eps of a soap). She was his manager until Sam moved away. *Sam began his career in his mother's children theatre company, The Black Box (his sis also was a part of this, his mom wrote the scripts). He also appeared at Andy's Summer Playhouse, where his mother was also involved. * Sam and his mother moved to NYC to persue things. He went to a private school for actors (the Culkins were students there, too, at the time). He did a couple of commercials, a video, a couple of tiny roles in small films (edited out of one of them) - and then J2J came. When he signed for that, they moved back to NH. * At first, Sam was very receptive to support and he was good to his fans. Suddenly that changed and he became very cold and distant. "The walls have been build very high" is the way it was put. It's still that way. He does not have a publicist, doesn't accept any mail and cooperates with no one. * Sam was a good student and well liked at Conval High School in Peterborough. I think he graduated in 2000. * He attended one semester of college in Mass. before dropping out and moving to LA. * He's actively pursuing stuff, auditing a lot. * He likes Mexican food and cheeseburgers * He's into cars. He's not into computers. * He has a cousin who is a professional singer, breaking into that world. Artsy people are common in his family Comment on this... |
