As the screenwriter of the television version of George C. Scott's "Beauty and the Beast" I have long been looking for a copy on DVD. I didn't know that any copies had been made. If any exist and are for sale at a reasonable price, please let me know. I have a new grand-daughter and I would like her to see this version when she is old enough to enjoy it. There was something very special about that show.

I also would like a copy of this wonderful rendition of the classic tale. It touched me so deeply when I saw it in the 1970s, that it has lingered in my memory ever since. This film should be put into a VHS or DVD format and marketed - perhaps on Valentines Day. I would like to share it with the people who I love.

A VHS version of this is up for auction on e-bay = bidding is up to $152.00. I can only hope who ever gets it makes copies! I also saw this movie was recently broadcast in Australia on the Movie Network (Jan. 12, 2004)

I agree completely! George C. Scott was excellent as "The Beast." I would love to be able to obtain a copy of this version of the film. It was such a memorable version of the story.
