Josh Pais Forum

| by Diana Having been feverish for days and unable to sleep, it was a pleasant surprise to find such a fabulous documentary on TV. Josh, you did a great job with a tough subject. And really...had it been scripted could the changes that happened between when you were threatened into stopping and when filming resumed be more monumental. I'm glad your family got to keep its home...too bad you lost your neighborhood. Comment on this... |

| by Darrick On one weekday afternoon I happen to watch the 7th street documentary and I was captivated. Not many films can do this me but this one did. Maybe because of the realism and how time progresses that things do change. The film also gave me inspiration to maybe do a documentary on where i grew up. because I do have a long family family history. Comment on this... |

| by Claire L. My brother lived at 140 E. 7th St. across from Thompkins Square for many years that were included in the film. He was an artist and I think was known in that neighborhood. He passed away 10 years ago and I would like to hear from anyone who may have known him, (including Josh Pais) if possible. His name was Andrew DeMasi and was a harpsichordist. He was involved with the 3rd Street Settlement House as well. Any info would be deeply appreciated. Comment on this... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| by linda kennedy Josh, I really loved your film "7th st". What a great gift your mom gave you in letting you learn to appreciate the multiplicity of things. That's why you will always be able to find "family" wherever you go. change is hard but ..it is..always and forever. I was very sad about the changes on 7th street but I'm so happy that all those great people will be remembered and known in all their diversity because of your work. Did Rino ever find a home? Thanks LK Comment on this... |
