| by Neil Gabbey I know the novel like I had written it myself. For twelve years, I have taught Bradbury's work, and for twelve years I have told my students what a travesty is Truffault's "visionary" film. (Just because you have a classy last name does not mean you took the time to open the book and read it before you deigned to make a movie from it.) Each year, my final essay test asks my students to comment on the 20-odd glaring omissions and errors that exist in the original film version - decisions that severely compromise if not ruin Bradbury's meaning. I also assign kids to create a movie trailer for a good remake. I would like to develop a dialogue with Mr. Darabont and offer my services as a script consultant. This novel deserves a second version. A real version. Comment on this... |

| by Cydney Newman Just wanted to say that I am a huge fan of Shawshank, one of my all time favorite movies. I also wanted to say that I went to high school with Frank and had a high school crush on him mostly because of his dry sense of humor. I have fun memories of sitting on the Hollywood High lawn eating lunch with him and the rest of that 10th grade gang. I'm very proud to have known such a talented man. Continued good fortune to you in your personal life and in your future films (I look forward to seeing them Comment on this... | |||||||||||||||||||
