| by Fr. Bruce Douglas My goodness folks, who cares about his 'orientation'. He is an absolutely gifted and fabulous actor! I totally love the Brother Cadfael III series. An exceptional artist bar-none, a true master of his craft. I can only wish many blessings to Mr. Jacobi. Comment on this... |

| by Marion ... this is the forum on the grand actor Derek Jacobi? Oh come on... And you can't think on anything else than "is he gay or isn't he"? Who cares? Ok, you all know now that he is. Does it make any difference? And I am not only talking like this cause I am lesbian. I can't say anything about "the person" Derek Jacobi cause I never met him in person. But I can say that he is a great actor and he gave many many wonderful hours to me and my wife. Excuse my english, I am from germany and I am doing my very best to speak a good english. If anyone knows where I can get an autograph... please contact me at marion@ianmcdiarmid.de. Thanks for listening and "take it easy" altogether! Carpe diem, Marion Comment on this... |

| by glasslass I met Derek when I was working at the Royal Opera house in Manchester about 30 years ago. I was 23 at the time . The story goes , I was collecting some photos from derek that I had asked for the evening before. The stage doorman asked me why was it when derek knew I was waiting he dropped everthing to come and see me but would not see two of his fans outside the theatre who had been waiting for two hours. Also that when he was stood next to me he couldnt take his eyes off me. It seemed at the time that derek liked me. I am female . The last time I saw Derek was 22 years later. When he seemed extemely camp for someone who isnt gay. Personally I dont care one way or another but it is a little puzzling to say the least. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Jeremy Derek Jacobi is very much a gay man. However he feels that sometimes a person's sexuality can overshadow there work. However Sir Ian McKellen has spoken of Derek's homosexuality on a sumber of occasions including this months edition of Empire magazine. Comment on this... |

| by Roger Glass & Associates As Sir Dereks personal manager I can confirm that he does not discuss his sexual orientation. As this is an 'open' forum any slanderous or malicious gossip will be looked at and the appropriate contact on this forum contacted to provide further details. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Jan, Vancouver, BC I respect him for being a good actor. I don't care about his knighthood (silly, medieval title that makes no sense in the 21 century), and about his personal life (whether he is gay or straight, as someone at this forum wanted to know). He has a memorable, sad face... Comment on this... |

| by Sandy Young people are being killed in a war. There is starvation and AIDS. More than half the world is suffering, and the people on this site is concerned about this man's sexual orientation. I don't get it. He is the best actor I have ever seen. All he owes me when I buy a movie ticket or turn on one of his television appearances, is a good performance. Nothing else. About Sir Derek's personal life... He has never asked me about mine, so I won't ask him about his. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Donna One of our finest actors. Love the man! His performance in the T.V. series "I, Claudius" was mesmerising and has stood the test of time. Made in 1976, it still has people talking about it. Comment on this... |
