| by Vickie Dayhood McCammon I have known Fred since grade school (2nd Grade when we moved to LaGrange), and I think we were in every class together. Fred has always been one of those great guys that you were blessed to know. I was lucky to have called him a friend back then. Although I have lost touch over the years, I am thrilled to see his success. Rock on, Fred!!! I guess Newsweek (or was it US News and World Reports?)knew what they were doing when they came to LaGrange and did that article about you in Jr High. Comment on this... |

| by russ everitt Fred is one of those rare persons that one is fortunate to meet in a life time. It was obvious even in grade school that there was something different about Fred. LaGrange Ga. is a better place for having been the home to such a genuinely nice guy. Do not know who the Pitts guy is who wrote the self rightous poop, but he obviously does not know Frederick Rufus Newman. Shame on him.(I may have misspelled "Frederick") And, oh....Fred was a track star. Comment on this... |

| by Charles Pitts It's disappointing to learn that Fred (Newman) lends his talents to such a violent and anti-social film as "Grand Theft Auto 2", which lionizes a thug who rises in the gangster world by raping and murdering innocent people. Not such a great inspiration for all the kids he's been the pied piper to for all these years. But like the song says, you've got to be taught... So his kids are a huge potential market for violent video games when they grow up. Since this is a "personal attack", I'm sure you'll strike it from your litany of unrestrained praise for Fred, and maintain the masquerade of his public purity while protecting his darker business side. But I can't remain silent in the face of this brutalizing of our society. Comment on this... | ||||

| by Sandy Flournoy I went to high school with Fred. A Great, Funny, Talented, guy and a gentleman! I still remember him "waving" his arms in the hallway at school sounding like a railroad warning signal. He also "performed" in a display window of a men's clothing store during Christmas in downtown Lagrange. (pretending to be a mannequin) I'm so happy Fred has been so successful. He deserves it all! | by Claudia Fred was the funniest, sweetest, most talented student in La Grange High School. I most fondly remember his stage performance of "Where the Boys Are" by Connie Francis. Only Fred could pull that off and sound even better than the original... He is an original. Comment on this... | ||||
