| by JC I think that Sean was wonderful in ROTK, and he does disirve an oscar for his roll. I think it would take a lot out of someone to play a character such as Samwise Gamgee. He was just plain Brilliant in the movies and disirves to be honored for it. I also agree that a lot of the biographies need to be updated. I also want to say to Sean if he ever reads these, YOU'RE WONDERFUL!! and keep up the good work! Comment on this... |

| by Mellie To say that Sean Astin is best remembered for the Goonies is one of the stupidest things I have ever read. Update this file! I can guarantee you that after the LOTR trilogy, he will be best remembered as Samwise Gamgee. And as far as I am concerned, if he doesn't get an Oscar for his portrayal, I will never watch the Oscars again. He is simply BRILLIANT. In my estimation, Samwise IS the hero of the movie. Without Sam's true bravery and ability to overcome the pull of the ring, no one else would have survived. Would that EVERYONE had a Samwise for a friend. Sean is the standout in the movie.
