| by Eugene O'Hare Pinter must be looked at firstly and foremost as a modern dramatist unrivalled since Beckett. He is also an actor of some merit and an occassional poet. His strengths more recently have extended also to the political protest speech. I am due to hear him speak at the National Theatre tonight. It is, oddly, of great importance to me to know that he is still writing during my lifetime and in the same city where I live. He has written some of the most enduring texts I will ever read. | by PL A fine actor who seems to have a talent for playing characters with psychological problems ; psychopaths. Quite sexy in his younger days. Reguarding him as a writer, I love the plays, but the movies (adaptions of other peoples plays or novels) always seem to have something missing, something not quite there, though they're good movies none the less. Ok, now another few years can pass untill someone else replys to this message.... Comment on this... |
