Sean McGinley's previous film work includes John Boorman's The General, Neil Jordan's Michael Collins and The Butcher Boy, Mel Gibson's Braveheart, Jim Sheridan's The Field and Simon Magus, directed by Ben Hopkins.

He has appeared on television in The Hanging Gale, The Ambassador, Dangerous Lady, Minder, Boon, Rik Mayall, Playboy of the Western World and in the RTE series Making The Cut.

McGinley's extensive theater work includes The Iceman Cometh, A Long Day's Journey Into Night at the National Theatre; Whistle in the Dark, for which he received a Best Actor Award and The Shaughran at The Abbey Theatre Dublin. He also appeared in The Three Sisters and Aristocrats at The Gate Theatre in Dublin, and in Much Ado About Nothing, Loot and Waiting for Godot with the Druid Theatre Company.

McGinley has worked extensively for BBC Radio Northern Ireland.
