AFTER READING ALL THE PRIOR POSTINGS, I am so excited about the possibility of seeing The Regal One somewhere, someday. I've admired his work since the mid-1990s--I love his spirit--and I've been collecting any photos that I've come across online. Once again, I feel very privileged to be a part of this forum about him. He is an inspiration to so many--men and women all over. Long Live This Great Man!

This posting is totally impromptu: I just discovered this website caught up in the spirit of an episode of TV's The Parkers, which featured MEL JACKSON. It's the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend and I was sitting at home watching reruns. Before taking the time to read all the previous postings I wanted to express my enthusiasm and admiration for this BRILLIANT ACTOR and my sincere appreciation for this maginificent forum--it's magnificent because it's about the one I've been enamored by since The Temptations movie. Once I've read all the previous postings I will post again hoping to fit in. SINCERELY

I have yet to meet Mr. Mel Jackson, but I know that I will. However I agree with everyone comments about how talented he is, I have followed Mel career ever since Soul Food.

I agree with the person who said that there is something about his spirit, it is funny someone feel that way also.

He appears to be a down to earth brother.

I just look forward to meeting him, I travel so I will be on the look out for Melicious Jackson (I meant that in a good way.)

I also had a close encounter with Mel after a performance of the gospel play Issues . He truly radiates a positive energy from within himself that is sincere, caring, refined, and respectful. I wish him continued success, and would like to thank him for the most heartfelt, intense, earth-moving, hug of my life.

From your new fan in St Louis MO.

Peace

I must start saving up so I can go and see a 'live' performance--Friends and Lovers or Issues--or SOMETHING he's in. Thanks for the heads-up. I just discovered this website this evening, and I'm glad I did! I've only seen Mr. Jackson in four productions: 1.] The Temptations, 2.] Soul Food, 3.] Living Single, and 4.] The Parkers. I hope to see him again.

I would like to know how do you get on Mel J. fan club. I have tried and for what ever reason I couldn't get on there. I am a true fan and how do I know that he even see any of the things people write about him. Once again if I only had the chance to meet him again and be able to speak with him. He just doesn't know the impact he has spriitually. Well any way if someone could clue me in on his fan club I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Fresno's very own

The Queen of Soul once commented about SAM COOKE, that if there were, let's say, twenty people in one room, Cooke had a way of making each one of them feel special. Even though I've never met this fabulous actor, MEL JACKSON, I get the impression that he has this same type of impact on people. I CALL IT SOUL.

I Know Mel Jackson because my mother knew him from
doing acting in Chicago and when I met him in 9/93 he
treated me like I was his little sister and he would called
my mom his play mom all the time. I could say that I
did play a EXTRA in scene of the soul with Mel Jackson
in 9/95 George Tillman first movie. In 9/95 Mel Jackson
moved to L.A. with George Tillman, Mathew St. Patrick
SIX feet under star and it has been 10 long years since
I last saw Mel Jackson until I saw UPN the play he is in
called Issue we all got em here in Atlanta on 3/18/06
and I saw Mel and I took a picture with him and he
did a wonderful job doing the play I will see part 2 of
issues we all got em.

You are very fortunate, Mrs. Walker, that you got to meet Mr. Mel Jackson in Chicago. I once heard that that is his hometown. He has a lot of soul--it shows in his work. I am currently under the tutelage of a UCLA Film School Faculty Chairman (long distance) in the hopes of re-writing a screenplay about a legendary soul singer--can you hook a Brother up? (I say that half-jokingly) I would love to study under or assist a star as spectacular as MEL JACKSON. (Does he have a Fan Club?)

I don't know what "Ya da ya da ya da" means (lol, maybe kinda), but here's some code-language I engaged in as a child, called Double Dutch: Mulelul Jugacashkuksusonun. (It means Mel Jackson.) Peace & Love always!

I have recently had the pleasure of seeing the live performance of Mel Jackson in the stage play Friends & Lovers, in Fresno, Ca. Although I have seen him in other big screen pictures, there is definately an ora about him. I did have the opportunity to have a picture taken with him and Leon. I only wish I had a few more minutes to actually speak to him but during that time it was take your picture and leave.(SMILE!) The one thing I would like to say about the very handsome Mr. Jackson is I could tell there is something special about this man not because he kissed me on the cheek as we took our picture or complimented my anklet, but something in his spirit stayed with me and it is really good to know that he has God as apart of his life. The Lord has definately blessed his spirit because I believe anyone he is around will be blessed by his presence alone.
May God continue to bless him and hopefully he will appear in Fresno again. If by any chance he can read this I would like to say thank you Mr. Jackson because in some strange way you have touched not only my heart but my spirit and if it is Gods will we will meet again. God Bless

Interestingly enough, I have read here that MEL JACKSON has appeared in Friends and Lovers in two different cities across the country--maybe he'll come to the Mile High City! (Wishful thinking!) He's a true star--and it's inspiring to read all the exciting reviews here. I feel privileged to be a part of this forum for such a BRIGHT STAR.

I have been a big fan of Mel Jackson since the day I first saw him on Living Single. Just recently, Mel attended my church, and now I am certain, that he is even more beautiful inside than he is on the outside. Mel Jackson is a very humble, down to earth person, who has a very big heart for others. I am now an even bigger fan because of who he is and for his love for the Lord. Mel, you have made me so very happy by taking the time out to take pictures with me, and respecting me by calling me "Sister" and telling me "God Bless You" You are a blessing and will be continue to be blessed by God. I will keep you lifted up in Prayer...

Be Blessed -
Your Sister, Leslie

I saw Mr. Jackson on TV's Living Single also! I enjoy the sound stage chemistry between him and Kim Fields on that show. Prince Mel DOES HAVE an aura about him that's very spiritual, I agree--the power behind his facial expressions and stage movement. He exudes a lot of confidence, which is a beautiful thing--makes him a good role model. A good example. In the realm of theatricality (not necessarily personally, I've never seen him in person) he comes across as arrogant, even, and it lights up the screen--like a Christmastree. He definitely lights up any screen--I'd like to write for him! (I can dream, can't I?)

I recently had an opportunity to see Mel in the play, 'Friends and Lovers' in Charlotte, NC. Although I didn't have the pleasure of personally speaking with him, the audience was allowed to take photos with Mel, Leon and Miguel at the end of the play. I could definitely tell that there was something different about him. There seemed to be a sincere humbleness about him that made him even the more beautiful. Sometimes, a person really doesn't have to say much but you can 'feel' something about them; something within their spirit. Perhaps one day I will have the pleasure of making his acquaintance but in the meantime, I'll always remember the beauty of his presence both inside and out...

Thanks for informing me about the play, Friends and Lovers, it sounds very entertaining. I'd travel across the country to NC to see it if I could--and who knows, maybe I COULD someday. It'd be worth it to see this regal one 'live' onstage.
