| by Shanon Mr. Grisham's book "The Innocent Man" brought out every human emotion possible in me. I have read hundreds of books and I am pretty thick-skinned, however I must admit that I was crying big, fat tears over this book, and it gave me a totally new insight to a judicial system that I always had possibly too much faith in. I think everyone that has "tunnel-vision" on convictions and punishments (like myself) should read this book. If anything, it will make you consider the possibility that someone you know or love could be in the same situation as Mr. Williamson, and to me it was scarier than any horror books I have ever read, and I will never forget this book!! | by Ray I thought any grisham fan would love to have this, please supoort!! Email me with any questions Southaven high school literary mag punched up by essay from John Grisham The Associated Press SOUTHAVEN — A modest high school literary magazine is prepared for record sales this year thanks to a contributed essay from alumnus and best-selling novelist John Grisham. “I wrote him asking if he would write a letter to the students that we could use as an introduction,” said April Holifield, the sponsor for Melange, the magazine of poetry, short stories, essays and art work produced by students at Southaven High School. “A couple of weeks later, he wrote back asking what our deadline was. About two months later, he sent us an essay about his experiences as a student at Southaven High School,” she said. The magazine sold 150 copies last year, printed for $4 each at Kinko’s. This year’s run will be 3,000 copies, with a raised spine, thanks to a grant from the Alcoa Foundation. Copies will be available beginning Aug. 20 and can be ordered online at www.desoto.k12.ms.us/shs. Grisham was born in Arkansas and lived across the South before graduating at Southaven, located about 15 miles south of Memphis, Tenn. The former attorney and state legislator is best known for his novels “A Time to Kill” and “The Firm.” Pete Farris, a junior who worked on the magazine’s copy, layout and design, said Grisham’s contribution was a boost to all students’ contributions. “I think it’s going to be something we can put on our resumes,” he said. “It’s something we can all be proud of.” Comment on this... |

| by Zarko Nanev I'm sorry for my English, I am Bulgarian. John Grisham is undoubtely a extremely good and readable author. But (always there is a little "but") when I read Terry Pratchet for example, I believe everything he writes although he is fantasy writer. When I read John Grisham (he is writing about our real world) some times I just don't believe him. No offense please. I really like him. Comment on this... |

| by Roarke1 Just started reading The Last Juror and Lucien Wilbanks and Harry Rex Vonner are in both books. Having a bit of trouble with the timeline. The Last Juror starts in 1970 and A Time To Kill was written (and I presume set) in 1989. I can see that Wilkanks would be right age for both, but Harry Rex Vonner would be either to young for the first or too old for the second. Am being really dull and missing something? Please advise! | by Joanne Wiberg I wanted to e-mail J.Grisham, but I guess it's not possible. I wanted to ask him to please do not introduce us to Luke, Ricky, Mother and Father, Gran, and Pappy, and then stop with just this one story! I have read several other Grisham books, including Skipping Christmas, and could not believe how "down home" he can write, along with those intense thriller -- such a show-off! (smile). I sat on my front porch or in my bed before sleeping, and read that book as if I lived on that cotton farm. How can some authors write so as to pull you right into the story, and others just right words. Anyway, I sure hope he does a follow-up on Painted House -- a movie, too!!! Comment on this... |

| by Madeline OK, I love John Grisham's legal suspense books. But I have a different question for you all. Is there an author to medical suspense that is the equivalent of John Grisham to legal suspens? Did that make any sense? lol. I love legal books, but medicine is my interest right now, so I'm looking for the John Grisham of medicine. E-mail me with an answer if you could, or else reply and I'll check back. Thanks! | by Grisham fan Hey, I've read two books written by John Grisham and I think that he is really good writer, maybe the best... I read a lot and I know, what I'm saying. No Tom Clancy, no Stephen King, but only John Grisham's books can keep my attention. My first book was The Brethren, I read polish version (I'm from Poland), this book is great, it took me one day to read it, the next was "The king of tors", also good book. Now I'm reading english version of "A time to kill", because I plan to read all his books and this book was his first. I haven't seen all films based on his books, I saw only "Runaway Jury", good film, good actors... gretz Comment on this... |
