| by Shogo I love kitano films because no matter how bleak a situation he puts his characters in, there is always an undertone of comedy coming from somewhere. I sometimes think that he couldn't manke a film serious all the way through. But i dont see that as flaw, not at all. I think his personality shines through in all his work, coming from a comedy background and all. also "DM" he is a writer, TV host and he also paints some fantastic pictures. He actually did the Painting featured in 'Battle Royale'. so there you go. Comment on this... |

| by DM oh my god, watched zatoichi recently for the third time and only then realised, the main character is also the director. Then low and behold I sit down to watch BR (battle royal for those who don't know.) and who should apear but the blind massuer/brill director. I know since i work with films this should be a crime for me but im truly in aw at this man achievements, in film. My one hope is that one day, i can create a movie that leaves its audience feeling as satisfied as i did the first time i watched Zatoichi (a truly great swordsman movie) Comment on this... |
