Pagsolingan Saturday, November 21, 2009 09:03 PM The latter portion of Mano Po 6 was shot successfully yesterday, November 20, by its director Joel Lamangan in Beijing Film Studio, which is China's version of the United States' Universal Studios. More than 80 Chinese people—composed of elderly people, youths, kids, and lion dancers—got included in the frame. But according to film producer Lily Monteverde, the head count that day was "200." 80-MILLION MOVIE. The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry of Regal Entertainment this year is perhaps one of the most expensive. "Pero okay lang... for the love of Sharon [Cuneta]," said Mother Lily. The running total of expenses to date is "80 million," according to the producer. In the film's Beijing trip alone, 55 people were flown in to Beijing. A 50-seater bus with toilet transported the Mano Po 6 people from their Beijing address, the Celebrity International Grand Hotel, to the various locations of pictorials and shoots, such as Temple of Heaven, the film studio, Forbidden City, and Great Wall of China. Four to five interpreters were hired for the director and production team. Plus, the set design required props and the production, a crane. But Mother Lily, who openly admits that she's frugal, mentions in one of our chats that she doesn't think much about the cost because her daughter, Roselle Monteverde-Teo, is very efficient. "Magaling siya. Maayos, tingnan mo, okay ang itinerary, di ba? Okay na okay siya," said the mom about Roselle. THE SHOOT. Meanwhile, the shoot happened successfully despite the numbing cold weather. After more than three hours of shoot, Sharon Cuneta sat on the floor and just sang a couple of songs to probably ease her tiredness. Heart Evangelista thought she wore the wrong pair of boots. "The air goes through it so my legs are very cold," she said. Nonetheless, she was able to endure the chilly weather, and did not lose her poise during the takes. Ciara Sotto, Nicole Uysiuseng, and John Manalo seemd to have higher tolerance for the cold weather. After the shoot, they were seen "nagkukulitan." Zsa Zsa Padilla and Dennis Trillo went there for the pictorial. The former stayed inside the bus, while the latter waited outside. A few minutes before the group packed up, Dennis hastily walked towards the bus. "Ang ginaw!" he said repeatedly. That same night, a press conference was held in Capitol King Roasted Duck restaurant. Mahigit 50 kaming lumipad patungo rito led by the mother and daughter producer, Mother Lily at Roselle. Present ang lead star ng movie na si Sharon Cuneta, kasama ang mga ‘anak’ niya sa film na sina Ciara Sotto, Heart Evangelista, Nicole Uysieseng at John Manalo, with Dennis Trillo, Zsa Zsa Padilla at Direk Joel Lamangan. From the airport, dumiretso ang grupo sa Grand International Celebrity Hotel upang mag-lunch at tuloy check in na. Paboloso ang Chinese food (siyempre!) na inihanda sa lahat. After ng late lunch, check in sa kani-kaniyang room ang mga utaw to freshen up. Pictorial sa Temple of Heaven ang unang trabaho ng mga artista na sakay ng isang malaking tourist bus. Muntik nang maiwan si Zsa Zsa ng bus dahil nagkaroon ng miscommunication. Seksing-seksi pa naman ang hitad sa high heels, huh! Matapos sagupain ang matinding traffic papunta sa Temple of Heaven, nakaabot kami para sa pictorial ng cast. Hindi na kami nakapasok sa templo dahil pasara na ‘yon! Nagkasya si Raymund Isaac na gawing background ang temple. Kahit grabe ang ginawa, go, go, go sa kapu-pose sina Sharon at Zsa Zsa; Sharon at Heart; Sharon, Ciara, Heart, Nicole at John; Heart at Dennis. Si Shawie, hindi namalayang tumutulo na ang sipon dahil sa lamig. Si Dennis naman, ninanamnam ang lamig dahil first time niya sa Beijing. Naka-schedule pang mag-pictorial ng grupo sa Bird’s Nest na ginamit sa 2008 Olympics pero dahil maaga ang pagdilim, kinansela na ito at dumiretso na sa dinner. Sa dinner, mega-lamb festival ang inihain sa grupo, huh! Hindi kinaya ni Sharon ang pagkain ng lamb kaya konti lang ang kinain niya. Nasa table namin siya kasama si Mother Lily, ang mag-asawang Tony at Madz Tuviera, Popoy Caritativo (manager ni Dennis), Malou Choa Fagar at fellow writers, Dondon Sermino, Allan Diones, Walden Belen of Bulletin at Leah Salterio. Sa chika nina Sharon at Mother Lily, malaki ang hirap nila sa Mano Po pero natutuwa sila dahil maganda ang feedback sa trailer ng movie. Sa shooting ng megastar sa isang templo sa Araneta Avenue, QC, ilang beses siyang lumuhod sa eksena na parte ng ritwal ng kultura ng Chinese. “Minsan nga, hindi ko kinaya ‘yung pagluhod kaya bumagsak ako! Ha! Ha! Ha! Inulit ito at humingi ako ng sorry sa mga kasamang monks sa eksena. “Naawa nga ako sa kanila dahil binaha pala sila nu’ng typhoon Ondoy. Hanggang truck ang tubig at first time nangyari raw sa kanila ‘yon. “But ‘yung hirap namin sa shooting, nasuklian ng magandang feedback. Naku, si direk Joel, gagawin ko nang exclusive sa movies ko! Binigyan pa ng lucky charms sina Sharon, Mother Lily, Mr. & Mrs. Tuviera at iba pang artista ng MP 6 sa cultural show na ‘yon.
