Most recognized as Captain Knauer in The Longest Yard, Ed Lauter began his acting career appearing on the popular '70s series The Waltons. He went on to guest star on The Streets of San Francisco, Magnum P.I., Homicide: Life on the Street, The X-Files, Millennium and ER. Lauter's additional television credits include HBO's A Bright Shining Lie and The Tuskegee Airmen. With more than 90 silver screen credits to his name, Lauter has starred in such feature films as Leaving Las Vegas, Born on the 4th of July, School Ties, Mulholland Falls, True Romance and Alfred Hitchcock's last film Family Plot. Lauter's upcoming releases include Physical Graffiti and The Day October Died.
