Daniel Hugh Kelly is a wonderful actor who has, within his box of tricks, an amazing aray of characterizations running the gamut from whimsical and silly to borish and evil.

He is a class act with talent and good looks!

I tune in just to see him!

A Wonderful Actor (Thu Jan 23, 2003 9:11pm ET)report post
by Nancy Verrocchi
I recently became aware of Daniel Hugh Kelly in the PAX television series "The Ponderosa", a prequel to the much beloved television series "Bonanza". Daniel Hugh Kelly plays young Ben Cartwright superbly. His acting is interesting and engaging. He is the reason that I became hooked on "The Ponderosa".

After seeing him on "The Ponderosa", I craved seeing more of this wonderful actor. I have spent the last year trying to get my hands on any movies or television shows that he was in. I found that he has the talent and versatility to play any type of role at all and to play it excellently whether it be a leading, supporting, or character role.

Daniel Hugh Kelly is far underutilized in the film industry. The public needs to see him in many more films and television shows. He also needs to be cast in many more leading roles.

I am eagerly awaiting more projects from this most talented of actors.

Great actor (Thu Jan 23, 2003 5:28pm ET)report post
by Petra Hill
Hi from Germany!

I like Daniel since he has played Mark McCormick in "Hardcastle & McCormick". He is a very talented actor, good-looking, smart, with a great sense of humor (as you can see in the "H & M" ep he wrote and directed: "In the eye of the beholder").

Here in Germany I believe he is not very well known - maybe because he leads a very private life but that should be respected. Anyway, he really should get a very big role soon - he's in the best age for that now Smile

I'm very curious to see him play Ben Cartwright in "The Ponderosa" which hasn't been on German TV yet - maybe never will but I've got an American friend who is copying the tapes for me. She knows when she reads this -
again thank you so much. I'm sure Daniel made a great Ben!! Hopefully the series will return!

I hope to see Daniel in many, many important roles in the future.

Danny is the Best! (Thu Jan 23, 2003 4:58pm ET)report post
by Tam Jenkins
I have watched Daniel Hugh Kelly for many years, and he is one of the best under rated actors out there. He has a vast range of talents. Starting at working on stage to soaps to TV movies, to sitcoms, to Full lenght movie actor. He has ran the whole field. He has shown he is capable of doing anything. I have not been disappointed in anything I have seen him in over the years. He has quite the following but being as he is a very private person you don't hear much about his fan base. But believe me he has a great fan base out there. He is very much loved by alot of people. And has earned alot of respect from his fellow actors as well. He is an asset to the acting community, and I would love to see much more of him in the future. I hope he continues to supply us with his talents, and his very good choice of projects. I think that is what draws me to him also, is he picks movies and shows that are usually family oriented. If not completely for the whole family he still makes sure they are not in bad taste. Everything I have seen him in, especially recently is just as I have stated above. In very good taste. I could write a book about how much I admire this man as an actor, but I will let the rest of you comment also. Just wanted everyone to know how much I respect and admirer him and his talents. And we need to see much more of this man. I hope he is more visible in the near future. JenxSmile

Looks and Talent (Thu Jan 23, 2003 2:06am ET)report post
by Barb (VCG)
Daniel Hugh Kelly has been a favorite of mine since I first discovered him as Mark "Skid" McCormick on "Hardcastle and McCormick" many years ago. (I do miss those "buddy" shows. What happened to them?) I have continued to enjoy his appearances through the years on TV and in feature films.

I will watch anything, no matter how unlikely, if his name is in the credits. I particularly have enjoyed his work in several episodes of "Law and Order" and thought he did a splendid job in the HBO miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon".

This versatile actor can play an amazing range of characters with great skill and believability. Recently he tackled the role of a young Ben Cartwright on the "Bonanza" prequel, "The Ponderosa" on PAX TV. This is a "don't miss" series if you have the opportunity to see it.

I look forward to each and every opportunity to watch Daniel Hugh Kelly in action.

Danny Rocks!!!! (Wed Jan 22, 2003 11:17pm ET)report post

I have enjoyed Danny in every role I have stared at him in. From Frank Ryan to Ben Cartwright, he portrays his characters in a very likable fashion. He makes my eyes happy.

He has tremendous versatility, a great voice and a very contagious laugh. I love watching him with the child actors...you can tell he really enjoys working with them. He is a wonderful role model.

I will gladly watch anything with him in.
I would like to see him do more comedy. I was blown away by his performance in 'Twice in a Lifetime-Take Two'.

We need more Danny!!!!!

GO DHK! (Wed Jan 22, 2003 5:53pm ET)report post
by Sammy
I've always said that DHK is probably one of the most under rated actors around! He has so much talent, and great looks, yet we don't get to see him enough in the big roles he should be playing! With a resume like his, he ought to be everywhere!

Smile Well, now, this is one of my favorite topics of discussion!

I first saw DHK in "Hardcastle and McCormick" and immediately appreciated his humor, flawless sense of timing, and the wonderful chemistry between Brian Keith and him (sure miss Brian Keith).

Since then all I have to read is "starring" "featuring" or "including" Daniel Hugh Kelly and I'm in the audience. I have never seen him give a bad performance and he continues to surprise me with his talent. I appreciated what he brought to the role of Ben Cartwright in "Ponderosa" - delight in his sons, mischief, loyalty to friends, the strength to stand by his convictions, and the ability to not take himself too seriously Smile

So when will I see him again? Not too long, I hope!

I have always enjoyed watching Daniel Hugh Kelly in any role he does as he makes the roles so believable. But once he started playing Ben Cartwright in The Ponderosa I decided I just can't get enough of him. I thought he played the part to perfection (having to follow in Loren Greene's footsteps). Hopefully we will be able to see more of him when The Ponderosa returns (as we all hope it does).
