Daniel Hugh Kelly Forum

by SAMMY I totally concur- DHK is truly one of our most underrated actors, (and not bad as a producer, either ;) ). Always under the radar and very low profile. It's time that changes and he gets the respect and attention he really deserves. It's LONG overdue! SAM - still searching for snarks in FL. Comment on this...

by Denise Just writting to say hi! Left Big Lots and went to Bremners in Princeton, KY. Still live in Madisonville for now. Back to 3rd shift and sleeping days. Miss you, hope you are doing well. Think about you all the time. Remember what I told you, whether you stay in "Hollywood" or shake the dust off your sandals and never look back and she replies with all the love in her heart, "It doesn't matter, as long as I'm with you." Take care, be well and trust your wings and believe in the wind that carries you. Comment on this...

by Denise I agree, with all of you. Daniel Hugh Kelly is Hollywood's best kept secret. Always staying just under their radar. He's best in a television series, haven't been 100% impressed with his movies, but it's not him, it's the parts. He just hasn't been given the chance to get the right part that he can sink his teeth into and absolutely SHINE! So Daniel, if by some chance you ever get to read this, you know 19 years is a long time and if you can't get the part you want, then you're just going to have to create it yourself. Project waiting! Several actually! Trust your wings and believe in the wind that carries you. It is your time to fly! And from what I've read in this forum, your fans love you and they want to see more of you and in one or more parts that you will excell in and prove once and for all what all of us, your fans and the people who love already know. You are simply the best, except no substitutes. You know where I am and how to find me. Just waiting for you to give the word. Comment on this...

by Sue H. I was Danny Kelly's first leading lady....many years ago in Elizabeth, NJ when we were teenagers. We were in Thornton Wilder's one act play "A Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden." I'm impressed with his ability to play many different roles, and make me really dislike him as a bad guy! Dan, if you see this, please email me. You are my "claim to fame!" Al and I are still married (33 years!), Clancy is still alive (85 years old!) and every now and then I run into someone from St. Gen's.... Comment on this...

by Seilvia It is a great pity that we see so little of this wonderful actor in South Africa, as he does not seem to be very well known here in darkest of Africa. I believe that Daniel is multi-talented, but underrated by far! He actually deserves a "big break" in the film industry. I also believe that he must be a wonderful, loveable person in real life, I can see that just by looking at the way he interacts with others in his performances. I certainly wish that I knew more about him as an individual, for he is never in the news in South Africa. He seems to be a very private person. I see him as a first class role model, even for younger people like myself. When I saw him perform in Hardcastle and McCormick in the 80's I was very impressed with his wonderful boyish smile, adorable looks and good humour. I wish that I was priveleged enough to meet him one day. It is really a pity, though, that darkest of Africa is so far away from Hollywood. We hardly get to see any of his shows here, and I blame the broadcasting companies here for being totally ignorant in that respect. I sincerely hope that a really "big break" comes his way quite soon! Comment on this...

by Shells Being of the younger set, I don't remember Daniel in Hardcastle and McCormick (sorry past my bedtime) I first became aware of him as and actor in "The Good Son" then as a TV generation kid grownup I remember him from some Lifetime Movies. I was thrilled to hear that he was going to play the part of Ben Cartwright in the new series "The Ponderosa" I think he is one of the few who could fill the shoes left behind by Lorene Greene. I think his talent is unexplored by those in Hollywood's Film and TV industry. I for one would like to see Danny in more roles as I have become a Fan. And I agree that he is coming of age to be a Hot leading man. He just needs the chance and the challenge of the right part. Comment on this...
