| by Lyn Georgia Rose Enjoy them especially "Envy" and "Wag the Dog". (Adore Jack Black.) Met him at movie showing of "Wag the Dog"& he signed his "66" book very graciously for me. "Wag" is my favorite of his movies. Although, I wish there was ALOT MORE written into "High Anxiety" for his part as Dennis--the bellboy. That was where I first noticed him, Loved him there. Barry was a HOOT & a definite HOLLER ! Affectionately to B L,Lyn Comment on this... |

| by Military mom It would be wonderful if you were to do a remake of "Good Morning Vietnam" and this time "Good Morning Iraq"....Robin Williams is a must have. We have a son in the military and these guys are craving this type of entertainment at the moment. It would be great and do us Americans proud to see such at the moment. I sent my only video of "Good Morning Vietnam" to Iraq, due to the soldiers requesting funny war movies to view. Don't know if it has gotten there yet, but this is a must have for them at the moment. Thanks for your time. Proud Army MOM Comment on this... |

| by Myra Stutman Perel Dear Barry, I hope you will have the oppurtunity to see this message. I could not find another e address to contact you. So sorry we are not able to join you this evening for your well deserved tribute. Congratulations for all of your accomplishments, but foremost for following your personal vision and your fortitude of perserverance. So often I share your success story with my art students @Seton Keough High School. I did have a moment to hear a part of your interview on the Diane Rehms' Show but was not able to find out about your book signing schedule. A faculty colleague did share with me his book signing moment with you at White Marsh. Since I am not sure you will get read this I'll close with my best wishes to you again. | by Film Elitist In the director's commentary for "Wag the Dog", Barry Levinson states that if they wanted the film to make more money they would have to dumb it down. They felt that if the film were to appeal to a broader audience, many of the people would not get the jokes or be offended by others. But, because is was made for the relatively cheap price of $15 million they were able to leave all the smart stuff in. Thak You, Thank You, Thank You! The Number One thing I want a movie to do is to challenge me to think. I hate movie's that maipulate reality to get a laugh or create a plot twist. Thank You Mr. Levinson, Mr. Dinero (and his Tribeca Productions) and Mr. Mamet for treating the audience with respect. Comment on this... |
