We are trying to find a film Peter Otoole was in, that had him trapped in a hole, and by some way,had befriended a black cat and had eventually killed the cat and used it's gut or intestines or skin to make a bow and arrow to escape from the hole he was trapped in.
Any help would be appreciated
Tim

Some of your question sounds like Rouge Male. That's the only thing I can think of where he was trapped in a hole.

Peter o'Toole is the best actor in the world!!! (Wed Nov 17, 2004 8:58pm ET)report post

I've been a fan of Peter since I was 10 and I saw Lawrence of Arabia. I'm nearly 22 now and still his biggest fan. I thought his role as Priam in Troy was great. He's the best and I'm so grateful that he replied to my letter. Smile

I adore Peter O'Toole (Tue Jul 27, 2004 11:23pm ET)report post

I remember when I first saw Lawrence of Arabia-there he was, the most beautiful actor I had ever seen in my life. Not just physically beautiful, of course, but the presence, the acting. I had to see more. Then I saw Beckett and The Lion in Winter! To me he IS Henry II.

The Ruling Class is one of the funniest movies I ever saw (do the Varsity cheer!), and even Night of the Generals was worth seeing for Mr. O'Toole's performance.

This fan will always love him.

I too think Peter O'Toole is a phenomenal actor, a real veteran. He is of classical dimensions in his appearance, movements and demeanour. I think his drinking habits were absolutely tremendous and an intrinsic part of him. This is a fundamental aspect to understanding him.Fantastic! What a bloke!!
I wonder how much of an appreciation of this man will carry on in our times; times which seem to hold no such place for men of such charm and charisma.

Well done Peter!carry on being a wonderful human being!

An elite talent (Tue Mar 25, 2003 7:46pm ET)report post

Since age 10, Peter O'Toole has been my favorite actor. I have high regard for his talent as an actor and am in awe of his ability to portray a variety of characters, including the insane Earl in the "Ruling Class". Forty years later, he remains my favorite actor. Smile

a great talent wasted (Sat Dec 7, 2002 3:08am ET)report post

O'Toole was a truly talented actor, with the ability to portray a wide range of emotions. Unfortunately, his problems with alcohol prevented him from reaching his potential. However, his acting in "Lawrence of Arabia" remains extraordinary, and as moving 40 years later as it was when it was originally released.

I love Peter O Toole. Yes, he had his problems with alcohol, but, in those days, the pressures that come with stardom weren't well established, since the Movie Star was a new phenomenon. He had no support network and apparently no excuses. HOWEVER, I fail to see how his work is diminished. His acting in every single one of his movies is brilliant. He is versitile, incredible, beautiful and talented. He is, and always shall be, my favorite actor. I am very pleased to say in the least that the Academy finally gave him what he deserved. His performance as Lawrence had, and will continue to, stand the test of time as one of the greatest pieces of acting that ever was.

Nonsense! A soused O'Toole -- as he was during most of the filming of "The Lion In Winter" -- is worth dozens of lesser actors. Mr O'Toole is my favourite actor. Nobody can touch him -- could touch him if all he ever did was "Lawrence of Arabia", but he's done so much more, hasn't he? Wonderful actor. The BEST actor. (By the by, the man's been on the wagon for a quarter of a century already -- give credit where it's due!)
