Biography #2 (for The Truth About Charlie)

Ted Levine has worked with Jonathan Demme, giving one of the screen's all-time chilling performances as serial killer Jame Gumb in The Silence of the Lambs. He first emerged as one of the most respected actors in Chicago's legendary Steppenwolf Theater after earning an MFA in acting at the University of Chicago. His first TV roles came in the series Crime Story and in several made-for-TV movies before moving into feature films like Ironweed (1987), Betrayed (1988) and Next of Kin (1989).

While thriving in motion pictures, Levine has since continued to work often in TV, starring most recently in the controversial, short-lived series Wonderland and the TV movie Harlan County War. He starred as an astronaut in two episodes of Tom Hanks' acclaimed miniseries From the Earth to the Moon, and as Starbuck, opposite Patrick Stewart's Ahab in Moby Dick. He also appeared in the crime series Wiseguy and In the Line of Duty, and in the TV movies Ellen Foster, The Last Outlaw, Murder in High Places and Death Train, among others.

On the big screen, Levine has starred in the Jean-Claude Van Damme thriller Nowhere to Run, Tobe Hooper's horror flick The Mangler, the acclaimed drama Georgia with Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Mann's Heat with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, Costa-Gavras' Mad City, the comedy Flubber, the smash-hit Wild Wild West, Evolution and, most recently, The Fast and the Furious.
