Great, powerful personality (Fri Apr 28, 2006 6:04pm ET)report post

His performances shows the "authority man", so in many senses, he´s one of the hardest guys in the shosbussines. Good actor.

I remember him in "Heat", dying in the middle of the history... not possible!!! ("Hey... that booted-cop is wonderful... let him play with Pacino and De Niro!!!!")

We want more and better movies for him. Dont leave him loose.

Has anyone seen Ted as Captain Stottlemeyer in USA Network's "Monk"? The role may not allow him his full range, but at least he's gaining new fans through the popularity of the new series. The second season (thirteen new episodes) starts this summer, with production scheduled to begin at the end of March.

Ted levine is a very skillful actor! (Sun Nov 17, 2002 6:30pm ET)report post

Ted levine to me is a very very talented actor. When he first started his career he was a bit under estimated and not really big. Starting out on telvision not really wanting to do big movies until he was given a chance to play a great role in "The silence of the lambs" he played a physcopathic transexual serial killer jame Gumb(Buffalo Bill) , whom he worked with Jodie Foster,Anthony Hopkins and Scott Glenn. I just want to wish him the best of luck and i hope he keeps up his great work!!~ Smile

No More "Who's that guy?" (Sat Sep 7, 2002 9:54pm ET)report post

On KMOX radio, St. Louis' supposed talk radio of the midwest, John Carney and a guest were
discussing the topic "creepy movies" and rated
Silence of the Lambs in the top 5. Both
felt the accolades for Hopkins as Hannibal had
overshadowed a great performance by the
actor who had played Jame Gumb. Then they
both admitted they had seen said actor
numerous times in good performances, yet
they could not recall his name. Cryin' shame,
I think, so thanks to those who do know lhis
name and his work.

I think it is a cryin shame as well, re Silence of the Lamb's.

I think that Ted should have recieved an oscar, and his name was not even mentioned that I can recall

Is there anyway to send e-message to Ted so I can let him know that I think he is a great actor?

Was sleeping with TV on, and heard his voice, woke up and he was in a movie called
Georgia

Don't miss Ted Levine in..... (Thu Sep 5, 2002 11:41pm ET)report post

If your unfamiliar with the majority of Ted Levine's work, please don't miss "Harlan County War", which was an excellent made-for-cable 2000 production. He stole the show - as is often the case. A truly gifted actor who shines in every role he plays.

I loved Harlan County War - Ted Levine needs more romantic leads which I think he thrives in - this was also Humphrey Bogart's problem until he was in Casablanca - after that movie he became a male lead.

The always great Ted Levine (Thu Sep 5, 2002 5:26pm ET)report post

Ted Levine is probably the most underrappreciated actor in Hollywood. He's done a lot more than play the psychopathic would-be-transsexual murderer, Jame Gumb. For starters, I recommend seeing him as Starbuck in Moby Dick and as Alan Shepard in From the Earth to the Moon, and be sure to catch him as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer in USA Network's new detective series, Monk. He'll also be appearing as a Frank Holman-style bad guy in Jonathan Demme's upcoming dark comedy/mystery, The Truth about Charlie.

BTW, I believe that his birthdate is actually May 29, 1958--or so the IMDb says.

If you're a Ted fan, check out my Ted Levine page at TV Tome:
