| by SerialZero I absolutely ADORE the film Willard, and it's in my top five of all-time favorite horror movies alongside Event Horizon, House On Haunted Hill, The Frighteners and Resident Evil. Crispin Glover is not only an extremely alluring and attractive individual, but a brilliant artist at that. I love rats, and have pet rats of my own. So this movie was, pardon my frankness, but a completely orgasmic experience for me. My favorite scene is where Willard comes up from the elevator with a swarm of rats, preparing to murder his boss. And everytime I hear Crispin say "They'll do anything I tell them.", I get the most delightful shiver down my spine. The pyschological metaphors used in the film are expertly incorporated, right down to the loss of sanity you can see in Willard's face when Socrates is killed in the supply closet, as if the blows were striking him too. A great film, and everybody responsible for it did a terrific job and shouldn't think otherwise despite what the horribly ill-educated and close-minded masses might think. I haven't laughed in so long. Since that legless old woman in the wheelchair, anyways. I'll be screwed if I don't get Willard on dvd. I almost brought my rat to the theater. Talk about a character I can relate to. ANYWAYS... Crispin is cute, and my ultimately favorite actor. A damn interesting person, too. I don't care if people say he's weird. He makes perfect sense to me, and his art... just great. If Crispin ever happens to read this, I have a painting for him done in blood and acrylics on canvas if he wants it as a gift.
