i was just checking out a website on '80s movies. i really enjoyed,just one of the guys,and the credits show,billy jayne (jacoby). i always enjoyed watching billy jacoby in the '80s,so i wanted to know why he changed his name??? and did his brothers do the same. also, i was raised in flushing,ny for many years, where he was born.

Jayne is his real last name...Jacoby was his mother's stage name.

the true fact is his older brother scott jacoby is his half brother and started acting first. They had different fathers. His mom thought it would be good if he acted under his older brother's name (Jacoby) to keep it in the family. At age 17, billy decided to act under his real last name "Jayne"
