Leslie Howard
Leslie Howard became a well-known actor in both his native England and the U.S., appearing in the stage and screen versions of Berkeley Square and The Petrified Forest. Just before winning the role of Ashley, he scored his greatest success as Professor Henry Higgins in the film version of Shaw's Pygmalion. He also co-starred with Ingrid Bergman in Intermezzo and was one of the many English stars to appear in the acclaimed film The Invaders.
His additional film credits include The Scarlett Pimpernel, Romeo and Juliet, British Agent and Of Human Bondage. On stage, Howard has appeared in such acclaimed productions as Just Suppose, The Wren, Outward Bound, The Werewolf, The Way You Look At It, Murray Hill, Free Soul and Reserved for Ladies, among others.
