With a successful film, television and theatre career, Douglas Henshall has become a familiar face to audiences.His films have included Peter Mullan's black comedy Orphans, which was the winner of 5 awards at the 1998 Venice Film Festival, the comedies This Year's Love, directed by David Kane co-starring Ian Hart and Kathy Burke and last year's Fast Food, co-starring Emily Woof.He recently starred opposite Penelope Cruz in the romantic comedy, Twice upon a Yesterday and with Kristin Scott Thomas in Angels & Insects directed by Philip Haas.Douglas Henshall is also known for his charismatic lead roles in the Channel 4 television dramas, Kid in the Corner, for which he picked up Best Actor Award at the Monte Carlo Television Festival 2000 and Psychos. Other notable television appearances include the BBC drama Gentlemen's Relish, Anna Karenina for Channel 4, the 1997 Emmy Award-winning, Crossing the Floor, written and directed by Guy Jenkin and Down Among the Big Boys for the BBC's Screen One series. Henshall also starred with Ewan McGregor in the critically acclaimed Dennis Potter TV drama, Lipstick on your Collar.

Henshall has also played at some of the countries best known theatres, taking on the roles of Teach in American Buffalo at the Young Vic Theatre and Dobie in The Life of Stuff at the Donmar.As part of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Henshall has appeared in The Devil is an Ass, The Relapse and The Painter of Dishonour.
