I had an Isaac Hayes album when I was really young - all I remember was that Isaac was dessed in fur and in some city scene somewhere...and on teh back it showed a pimp looking guy in a fur coat lying bleeding on the street and Isaac Hayes walking away from him like he just shot him...do you know what album that is? | by Donald Dixon Isaac Hayes was my first role model as far as apprieciation for soul music is concern. His best work was and still is his ablum "Shaft", His prior colaboration with Soul music greats like sam and Dave , otis redding ect was the foundation of todays R&B. I am so happy this brother found success a the voice of chief in south park (My favorate show) but frankly I think he has lost it as a song writter / composer. However, his voice is as deep and haunting as it ever was. I hope a good Song writter / composer / producer taps into this great talent. Although its great to see his new found sucess I think we are missing some fine work yet to come from his true god given talent. But Isaac...You da man! Comment on this... |
