| by Laurel I read the two bio's on this page, and I have to submit some corrections (whoever is in charge, please take note!): Michael Wincott is not an American (unless you mean North American, in a very broad sense). He was born in Canada, and as far as anyone knows, is still a Canadian citizen, although he has lived in the USA at least since he attended Juilliard in the mid-80s. And his career is quite a bit longer than 20 years by now: his first acting job on Canadian TV was in 1976. That's very nearly 30 years. Just trying to be accurate. Again, the website "michaelwincott.org" has a very detailed and very accurate bio of this fine actor, which is well worth taking a look at. Comment on this... |

| by Laurel I am always delighted to find new Wincott fans around the internet! I have been a fan for about two years now, starting when I (mostly by accident) saw the little-known indie film "Gunshy". I was so amazed and impressed by MWs performance in that film, that I sought out his other work and eventually sought out info about him online (and yes, michaelwincott.org and it's webmistress, Brandy, totally rule...if you have not visited yet, IT'S A MUST). I frequently post on MWs page on the Internet Movie Database, as well as the Brothers Wincott forum on Yahoo (BrothersWincott@yahoo.com), which I personally welcome anyone here to join (or at least stop by and say hello). We have TONS of rare photos, fan art, fan fiction, etc. It's also the best place online to hear about any MW gossip or career news. I am always happy to see "more MW" in any place on the web, so I was very happy to discover this forum. | by Ania I saw Michael in may movies. And in each of them he was great. He's soooooo hot (THE VOICE!),very good actor ( he played so many different roles but each of them was so convincing, so real)... I just don't get it - why is he so unknown? I understand, that because of raspy voice, some roles aren't for him, but does he always have to play bad guys (although he does it very well  )?! The first time I saw Michael in Alien 4 - and I liked cpt Elgyn very much. Second - three musketeers - I also noticed that the guy playing Rochefort is quite nice, although he has a moustache. Guy of Gisbourne - I was very upset when he died in the middle of the film But only after seeing fourth film - Metro, I realized that this is one and the same actor... Michael! Although you're 23 years older than me, I believe that you're the one for me (and I'm the one for you ) BTW- visit www.michaelwincott.org - the best site about him I ever found!!!Comment on this... |

| by Alicesnightmare Ya know,I agree with others here. Michael is totally hot. What he needs is a film created just for him to star in.(And not die in.) I dont think I could see him as Aragorn though. Arigorn's rather humble. Michael's too forceful,dominating and powerful. He would make a fine gunfighter though. Or,someone like Attila,even though I loved Gerard Butler as Attila. Actually,I would watch anything he's in. I have collected nearly all of Michael's films,and been a fan for years. I have been a fan of his since I first laid my eyes on him in ROBIN HOOD PRINCE OF THIEVES... what attracts me to him? his voice!!! I just love the sexy deep gravel tones of his voice, and he has a face to die for, he has such a beautiful sculptured face, he is pure sophisticated art! I just wish that he didn´t die in 90% of his movies...! I was only thinking the other day that he could have been cast as ARAGON in the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, I mean nothing against VIGGO, I think that he is gorgeous too but, Michael looks great with a horse between his legs!!! just look at him in 1492, he looked like a true Nobleman!
