I don't know when I was realized that Martin Landau face remind me to my father. My father gone 5 years ago and until today still sad and really really miss him. I'm sorry if it's wrong, but my sadness seem disapear when I looked your picture or watched your movie. You really reminds me of him. Especially in Pinochio movie, cause my father always do the samething that you do in that movie for his beloving daughter. I don't know how to thank you but I thing God always make a way to make people forget his sadness. And I believe that God send you to me to forget of loosing my beloved father. May God Bless you and give you good fortune and healthy forever.
I'm your big fans forever.

Remembering a nice man (Wed Nov 2, 2005 9:59pm ET)report post

Many years ago, when i was in high school, i attended some kind of symposium, or forum, or something. Don't remember what it was about. What i DO remember is, Martin Landau was a guest speaker. At this time he was appearing in Mission Impossible. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Landau, and found him to be unbelievably nice. When he spoke to me, he seemed to sincerely care about me and what i had to say. He looked into my eyes and acted as though at that moment i was the most important person in the world. What a nice thing to do for an impressionable high school senior. And, he had the MOST incredible blue eyes!! I have never forgotten this, and i never will.

Martin Landau on stage (Thu Aug 4, 2005 5:52pm ET)report post

i had the honor of working with Mr Landau when he was on stage in New Haven (The Long Wharf Theatre) in an excellent play called "Sixteen Wounded". the heart-wrenching story was made that much more intesne through Landau's excellent performance. he had told me that although he hadn't been onstage in over 15 years, he felt the script was so incredible that he had to do it. and, he was in New Haven for the play's entire run, some 3000 miles away from his home- a true testament to how powerful this piece was.

the play did very well with both critics and audiences, and went on to a short run on Broadway. i swa the production there, where Landau was replaced by Judd Hirsch. Hirsch, as i unhappily discovered, is not half the actor landau is. he turned what was once a compelling character into one that was more of a parody. the play, sadly, did not last long. (one good note: Omar Metwally, the only actor in the Broadway production who was in the original cast in New Haven, won the theatre critic's award for best new actor).

i have a poster advertising the play when it was in New Haven, signed by the entire cast, of course including Landau, and it is one of my most prized possessions. i hope i get to see more of Mr Landau on stage.

Saw him on the Outer Limits episode, "Man Who was Never Born", and he confirmed for me my perception of what a great actor he is. And he looks so handsome in this episode, when he's without the deformed makeup.
