One of Ian Hart's early successes was portraying the young John Lennon in the story about the fifth Beatle, BACKBEAT, directed by Iain Softley and produced by Stephen Woolley. He won awards for Ken Loach's LAND AND FREEDOM, about the Spanish Civil War, and Thaddeus O'Sullivan's NOTHING PERSONAL. In Angela Pope's admired THE HOLLOW REED, he co-starred with Martin Donovan and worked with Sam Bould, who plays his son in THE END OF THE AFFAIR.
Hart has worked twice before with director Neil Jordan and producer Stephen Woolley, on MICHAEL COLLINS and THE BUTCHER BOY.
Recently he has been seen in Tony Scott's ENEMY OF THE STATE, Ted Demme's NOOSE, Amis Powell's FROGS AND SNAKES, David Kane's THIS YEAR'S LOVE, producer Uberto Pasolini's follow up to THE FULL MONTY, THE CLOSER YOU GET, directed by Aileen Walsh, and Michael Winterbottom's WONDERLAND.
Hart is currently starring in STRICTLY SINATRA, directed by Peter Capaldi and produced by DNA.
