Her role in Big Momma's House, opposite Martin Lawrence, garnered her a 2001 NAACP Image Award Nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture and a 2001 Blockbuster Award Nomination for Favorite Actress.

In addition, she has also directed music videos for Ashanti and Yolanda Adams.
