Jason Isaacs has most recently been in uniform for starring roles in two major war epics: Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down and John Woo's Windtalkers. He will next be seen as the odious Lucius Malfoy in the second installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and he will reprise his role in the fourth installment, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Currently, he is starring in the dual roles of Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in the live action feature Peter Pan, being directed by P.J. Hogan.

Moviegoers recognize Isaacs as Mel Gibson's ruthless adversary Colonel William Tavington in the Revolutionary War drama The Patriot. Isaacs has made three movies with director Paul Anderson: the sci-fi thriller Event Horizon; Soldier, with Kurt Russell; and the British cult film Shopping. His other film credits include Mike Figgis' Hotel; Sweet November, with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron; Neil Jordan's The End of the Affair; the blockbuster Armageddon; Dragonheart, with Dennis Quaid; and The Tall Guy, in which he made his feature film debut.

Born in Liverpool, England, Isaacs graduated from the prestigious Central School for Speech and Drama in London. He went on to star for two seasons on the hit British television series Capital City. He also appeared in a number of longform television projects in Great Britain, as well as in the American miniseries The Last Don II.

An accomplished stage actor, Isaacs has directed and/or starred in more than 20 theatre productions on the London stage, including his critically acclaimed performance as Louis in the Royal National Theatre Production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Angels in America – Parts 1 & 2.
