| by Gil Gaudia My only exposure to Roland Emmerich was in listening to his voice-over on the Cd of "The Patriot". I would not only disagree with your description of him, but would like to send him this comment if I knew how to reach him.
"Dear Mr. Emmerich,
By what leap of arrogance did you decide to narrate the introduction to your fine film “The Patriot”? Had you been an articulate speaker who didn’t use “you know”, “kinda” and “like” almost every other word, your German accent might have been excusable. But since you are an incoherent stammering babbler, it was impossible to listen to your rambling, prattle while trying to appreciate the description of, what very well may have been an interesting and illuminating insight into the making of the film.
It is a surprise that none of your colleagues, agents advisors or friends did not point out to you that you sounded (in this instance) like a ludicrously ignorant buffoon instead of the good director you probably are, and advise you to leave the narration to those who are well-equipped linguistically; those who can speak English with decent syntax and semantic skills. After all, this was meant to enhance the film by being informative.
You know, like it’s kinda . . . like . . . stupid . . . kinda. Like . . .you know?
