When I saw this movie it helped me reafirm my faith in God & that helps us through the very tough times. Amanda has received over 2,000 cards also from all over the world . | by Charles I owe it to guys like you and Johnny Depp who have helped to give teenage fans like myself some persepective and depth on growing up since i am not a female my attidute toward the whole teen idol and hunk image is, pretty much what a guy would think, cool and flattering, I am 18 years old and have never seen growing pains in its original form, but have watched the entire series in reruns about 10 times, the think that kept bringing me back was how very much Mike was like me i just loved the fact that a decade in which i was born had people, like yourself who enjoyed, bring something teens could relate to the thing that sets you apart from Johnny however has far as teen idol was concerned was that you accepted it, to johnny it was sort of this phase, this thing that people label you as. in fact just this very momment the show is on again, just cause my mom happens to be watching CTS, which is were it airs. i find mike in me, a guy who wants to be accepted by his peers, i guess thats why i have seen alot of physical changes, first it was the Bad boy image, than it was the cool dude image, and than the sexy hunk image, during that phase i wore an earring wore a bandana and dressed in a denim jacket and jeans with no shirt on underneath, so i felt like the character of mike, to me how my friends saw me was important, girls were what mattered aside from schoolwork, it was after watching growing pains however that i realized how the same kinds of things mike did after a long time of being stuborn and not wanting to accept what his parents were telling him was getting to me to, i still dress with the earring and bandana, but know its more for an image change than for trying to impress people, left behind touched my life it made me look at who i was as a christian, I always believed in God and so left behind helped me reach out to him more than ever. Kirk i want to say thank you, thank you for changing televison for changing the lifes of so many terminaly i'll children, your Wife and most importantly me. we may never have met but, you have helped me to see the life of an actor and all the changes they face infront of millions of viewers, and that has helped me see what kind of actor i want to be, listen Kirk I study Drama, and am a method Actor, which means i throw myself into my character, i practice talking thinking and taking on the physical and emotional presence of my character, its a great thing, to try it will really help your character flow better, if ever you get o do more movies or what ever, try it its great anyways, God Bless you and Chelsea, your heart is good and you deserve all the best Sincerly Charles, (AKa whistler earring) note: my name is Chad but everyone calls me either charles or my nickname Whistler Earring.
