Allison Anders has a gift for making amazingly realistic movies. I feel very connected to the charachters in a lot of her films. ("Gas, Food, and Lodging", "Sugartown", "Things Behind the Sun") Brilliant is the only word that comes to mind when I see or think about an Allison Anders movie.
